Vietnams labor ministry has submitted a plan to increase local minimum wages, which, if approved, will be the first time ever the country has adjusted the rate twice in one year.

Under the plan submitted Tuesday, the new minimum wages would be between VND1.4-2 million (US67.4-96.3) per month. The wages would vary by region, and the plan would take effect this October 1, if approved.
