HA NOI — Famous Vietnamese mathematician Professor Hoang Tuy has been named the first ever recipient of the Constantin Caratheodory Prize for his pioneering work and fundamental contributions to global optimisation.

Tuy said that unfortunately, he would be unable to attend the awards ceremony in Chania, Greece due to health problems.
