One more idea for New Deal policy!! Yes, I'm a lazy night owl who loves to to homework in midnight. For the purpose of New Deal was boosting US's economy up, I consider New Deal as an effective solution for the Great Depression. Even numerous opinions are calming that New Deal wasn't successful, the policy brought some positive outcomes that DEDICATED to recover from the Depression; Banks started to work normally. Saved agriculture by financially helping them. Suppressed too much competition among companies and accepted workers' right as well as minorities'. New Deal policy gave hope to Americans and brought unison among them. New Deal policy should be considered as an indirect solution of depression, like a contributor... |

I believe the New Deal was innovative in a sense that no other president had successfully gotten America out of the Depression. Roosevelt and Obama are often compared to each other because they both dealt with our country's economic downturn, but Roosevelt’s New Deal established jobs and other opportunities for the poor, which made Americans believe his statement of “Americans have nothing to fear, but fear itself." |

It connected society and people to the government and the president, and saw this as " solutions to the nation's problems" (p. 562). It is also almost impossible to satisfy an entire country, especially when in a depression. With all the institutions put in place by Roosevelt many of the issues of the depression were addressed, and he tried to help all people by creating jobs for all men, women, and young adults. Roosevelt also had schools built and employed teachers, and also gave aid to attend high school and college to over 200, 000 students in 1936. |
I can agree with this statement because it’s hard to satisfy both the majority and minority of the country. Roosevelt successfully gave opportunity to those that needed it, and left room for those who were successful to continue to build their fortunes. I know that the depression wasn't recovered completely by the New Deal, but at least it gave American citizens hope to keep pushing forward and faith in their government's abilities. |

I agree with what Eli said about comparing the Great Depression to the current recession. I also agree with Annie that the New Deal unlike past documents actually addressed quite a few issues like damages of rich people's houses and conservation problems that needed to be fixed. |
