What is the author’s thesis? Do you agree or disagree from the information in the essay? Why?

the authors thesis seems to be that the reason ATG was so successful was that he had the most advanced equipment, the best trained troops and best tactics or
"Greeks knew and the Persians were about to discover was that Alexander was a unique conquer and general and that his forces were a streamlined war machine unlike any the world had seen before."
i think that this is a solid argument, for starters looking back on it he won (a lot) and no one in the history of forever is that lucky, so he had to have something going for him and this easy makes a convincing case for this being his trump

I thought the thesis of the paper was to prove that since Alexander reshaped his infantry drastically, through coordination and strategy he was able to defeat the Persians, which is a fantastic feat considering the numerical disadvantages.

A large part of why he was so successful was because Alexander was big on innovation. He reconstructed his phalanx, utilized the several forms of infantry he had, combined infantry-cavalry into a trademark tactic, and didn't pay any mind to being unconventional.

"Alexander’s incorporation of specialized forces was an incredible innovation. This stems particularly from the fact that in this case, specialized almost always means multicultural. " And like the author said, this worked because he wasn't concerned with enriching himself on a multi-cultural level (though it would have been polite of him to take a small-talk interest)... basically he wanted to be the Big Bad commanding the Biggest and Baddest out there, and he did what it took to achieve.

Based on his track record, I think it was a good strategy o.o
